Global Citizen | Extroverted Introvert | Enthusiastic Learner

I enjoy exploring data, automating a process, and developing a web application by using programming languages and software.

Also, I love discovering something new (a new restaurant, a different hiking trail, another skiing resort, a growth mindset, a new phone & PC, a unique tech gadget, etc 😍).

πŸ”§ About Me

Traveled halfway around the world, I took the adventure and attended college in the United State after graduating high school in China. Just like other international students or immigrants, I arrived at the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport with 2 suitcases (that's it) and started the journey by myself. After years of hard study, I earned 2 degrees, B.S. in Accounting and M.S in Information Systems.

Unlike the majority, I discovered my interest in technology through my first job as a tax associate in a public accounting firm. Surrounded by varieties of technology, gadgets, and accounting and tax software, I was fascinated by the data workflow and automation accelerating all manual processes, and I can't stop playing with them. As so, I decided to back to school and studied in Information Systems major at Drexel University.

β€”β€” Here's What I've Done So Far β€”β€”

Systems Engineer - IAM Intern

SAP Concur, June 2020 - August 2020

I was lucky enough to have this virtual intern during the COVID time and worked closely with the IAA team. During the two months, I built a web portal for my team of 6 system engineers to display a snapshot of the performance for 4000+ internal users in varieties of software platforms from different working environments. For providing a central location for my team to access the up-to-date information, they can make smarter, data-driven decisions.

The technology and skills I've learned and used for this project are:

IT Help Desk Support

Walsh College, April 2018 - June 2018

Working at the place I used to study and live feels very different because emotionally I'm attached to this place. Every day I provided technical support for 200+ users by phone calls, emails, and face-to-face communication; I documented detailed descriptions of issues in trouble tickets system and followed up for swift resolutions within 12 hours. With the rapid remanding and growth of virtual online courses, I set up different types of equipment, such as desktops, PCs, and projectors, and also troubleshoot for our professors and students, ensuring proper operation systems, network environment, or software running.

International Tax Associate

Moore Stephens Doeren Mayhew, January 2017 - December 2017

My group works with clients all over the world, German, UK, Mexico, Singapore, China, etc. So, luckily I had the opportunity to get involved in tax compliance on a global scale. Meanwhile, lots of financial statements and tax documents received were written in our clients' native language. While I was draining in using Google Translate manually, trying to understand the content of these paperwork, the firm introduced one new software that enables automate the process by using the natural process language(NLP) method. Through that year, several other new software and procedures are taken place, such as tax filing auto flow. I was very fascinated by all these new gadgets and tech; it helps my productivity tremendously.
